Access control tends to matter more on estate properties than on smaller lots, simply because more people need to get in: family, guests, housekeeping, gardeners, deliveries. Keypads, smartphone control, video intercom and vehicle detection are all worth specifying at quote time. Retro-fitting the access layer later is possible but rarely as tidy.
